We at Marti’s Dance Studio believe that the annual Dance Show is a very fulfilling experience for the students. Not only does it give them the opportunity to perform for their family and friends, but it also reaffirms important life skills such as personal responsibility and cooperating with a group
We understand that some students may have other obligations or may not choose to participate, and so we keep the costs associated with the show separate from tuition fees. Ticket sales cover the costs of staging the event and are not included in the tuition fees.
The rehearsals will be Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday beginning around 12 noon. The Tiny/Toes rehearsals are on Thursday and Friday 10 to 12 noon.
Rehearsal attendance: Scheduled family vacations, family emergencies and work schedule conflicts, are activities that will excuse students form rehearsals.
This past year we had too many students missing rehearsals due to summer camps. It is not fair to the other students and the teacher to withdraw at the last minute from a group dance rehearsal and effect the quality of that routine, therefore students must attend rehearsals.
Show
Times: The Tiny/Toes show is
performed at 11:30a.m. Saturday and is approximately
one hour and ten minutes. The Friday evening, Saturday afternoon and Saturday
evening shows are approximately 1 ˝
hours in length. The Hip/Hop Showcase show will be approximately one hour.
All students should arrive 30 minutes before show time.
Rehearsals:
The rehearsals are mandatory for all students. Summer camps are not excusable.
If you have a problem with a rehearsal time, call or send me an email. There are
no classes at the studios on June 16th and 17th.
Tights:
Please ask the teacher what size and color tights your daughter is wearing for
her number. It is not necessary to purchase new tights if tights from last year
have been retained and are the correct color. Tights will be available to
purchase the first week of May, so please buy early in case I run out of a
particular size. The only store that sells this brand of tights is in San Jose.
I will make one trip at the end of May if I run out of a particular size. After
May I will not have the time to go to San Jose and you will have to purchase the
tights in San Jose.
Flowers:
It is a dancer’s tradition to receive flowers at the end of a performance. You
may purchase from the dance studio or a flower shop or pick some from your
garden. If you order flowers from DeMartini’s, Los Altos you will pick up your
bouquets as you enter the theatre.
Show
fee: We do not charge a show fee, so we must sell tickets for all of the
performances. The tickets will go on sale June lst and there is no limit to the
number of tickets you can purchase. (Children 5 and under are free). The cost of
a ticket for all performances is $15.00. There is no reserved seating. It is not
necessary for parents to attend all shows that your child performs in, but if
you do attend you will be required to purchase tickets for the shows you attend.
Seating
arrangements: There will be no saving of “rows of seats” at the
performances. A security person has been hired to help the audience with their
seating.
Order
forms: picture, flower, DVD and ticket forms will be distributed the first
week of May in your child’s class.

This show is for the benefit of the students, so there are no auditions, and we encourage every student to participate. We choreograph the show so that every dancer gets a turn at the front of the stage. Mark the dates of the annual show! Rehearsals will be on June 17, 18 and 19. Rehearsals are mandatory.
